Landen Roupp Could Make Rehab Start on Sunday
Landen Roupp (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Friday and could make a minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, according to Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle. The 26-year-old landed on the injured list on July 25 due to inflammation in his right elbow, but he might only require one or two rehab starts before the Giants return him to their starting rotation. The former 12th-rounder in 2021 should have a spot waiting for him in San Fran's rotation given the fact that he has pitched very well in 2025 with a 3.11 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 95 strikeouts and 42 walks in 101 1/3 inning pitched over 20 starts. Roupp's walk rate isn't ideal, but his sinker-curveball combination and ground-ball tendencies are a perfect combination at pitcher-friendly Oracle Park.
