Jonathan Aranda on the Bench Against Lefty
Jonathan Aranda will get the day off on Sunday in the series finale against the division-rival Baltimore Orioles with left-hander Trevor Rogers on the mound. Yandy Diaz will man first base and bat third, while Junior Caminero will serve as the designated hitter and hit cleanup. Jose Caballero draws into the lineup at third base and will bat eighth. The Rays will give Aranda a breather after he went 0-for-8 with four strikeouts in the first two games of the second half of the season on Friday and Saturday. Despite the slow start coming out of the All-Star break, the 27-year-old is having a breakout season in 2025 in his fourth big-league season, as Aranda is currently slashing .316/.392/.480 with an .872 OPS, 11 home runs, 50 RBI and 48 runs scored in 93 games. He should be back in the lineup for Monday's series opener against the Chicago White Sox.
