Quinn Priester Fans 11 in One-Hit Gem
Quinn Priester turned in the best performance of his young career in a 5-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Saturday. The 24-year-old improved to 6-2 after throwing seven innings of scoreless ball with one hit allowed and 11 strikeouts against two walks. Michael Toglia's fifth-inning single was all the Rockies could muster against Priester, who threw 95 pitches and got 20 swinging strikes. It was a fantastic ending to a terrific June for Priester. He threw 27 innings this month and allowed just six earned runs. He'll head into July with a 3.35 ERA, 61:26 K:BB, and a 1.23 WHIP over 78 frames. Priester could begin next month on a high note with a start against the Miami Marlins on the 4th.
