Mick Abel Earns Second Win Of Season Monday
Mick Abel picked up the second win of his career in Monday's 5-2 win over the Marlins. Abel pitched five innings, allowing one run on three hits and a walk with three strikeouts. The 23-year-old has turned in encouraging results in his first four starts, going 2-0 with a 2.21 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP, and a 7.52 K/9 rate in 20 1/3 IP. His strikeout numbers have not yet reflected the ceiling he showed in the minors, but fantasy managers can't complain about his ERA and WHIP so far. His next matchup will be a tough matchup against the Mets. While he has looked good overall, Abel had a harder time in his last tough matchup against the Cubs. As such, fantasy managers may consider sitting him.
