Jose Soriano Tosses Seven Scoreless Innings Monday
Jose Soriano turned in his second consecutive seven-inning start in Monday's 1-0 extra-inning win over the Yankees. Soriano did well against a tough lineup, allowing six hits and a walk with six strikeouts. The 26-year-old is now 4-5 with a 3.54 ERA, a 1.46 WHIP, a 7.30 K/9 rate, and a 4.17 BB/9 rate in 15 starts and 86 1/3 IP. Over half of his starts have been quality starts, but Soriano has been limited at times due to walk issues. His next scheduled start will be a sneakily favorable matchup against an Astros lineup that has slumped lately. This may present an opportunity for Soriano to extend his seven-inning start stretch to three.
