Ceddanne Rafaela Taking a Seat Monday
Ceddanne Rafaela is not in the team's lineup on Monday for their road meeting with the Milwaukee Brewers. It appears to be just a routine day of rest for him. The 24-year-old has been in quite a cold spell at the dish, with just one hit in his last 22 at-bats. Rookie Kristian Campbell is working center field in his stead -- batting fourth -- while David Hamilton is operating the keystone and hitting ninth. Rafaela is an excellent fielder and exhibits good speed on the bases, but has cooled down considerably from a hot stretch earlier this month. The Curacao native's overall season line isn't too enticing. Still, he's underperforming his .265 xBA by more than 40 points (.220) and has improved his quality of contact and plate discipline in his third season.
