Brent Rooker Hits 12th Home Run on Saturday
Brent Rooker went 1-for-4 with two walks and a solo home run in Saturday's 9-6 extra-innings loss to the Phillies. The home run was his 12th of the year and second in his last three games. Coming off a year in which he batted .293, fantasy managers are surely disappointed in his current .245 batting average, however, with a BABIP of .280 (career .319) and an xBA of .281, there's hope he can turn it around from here. The 6-foot-3 slugger is actually making more contact than he did last year, chasing pitches outside the zone less, and striking out less, all the while posting a solid .340 wOBA and 120 wRC+. The right-handed hitter's xwOBA is even higher than last season's xwOBA (.382 vs. .380). The 30-year-old is still on pace for 30 or more home runs, too, so fantasy managers should remain patient.
