The Seattle Kraken have acquired right wing Kaapo Kakko in a trade with the New York Rangers. The team gave up defenseman Will Borgen, a 2025 third-round pick, and a 2025 sixth-round pick in the deal. Kakko, a former No. 2 pick, heads to the Western Conference after having a tough time with the Rangers. He's posted 131 points (61 goals, 70 assists) in 330 career games, including 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 30 appearances this season. Kakko gets a fresh start on a new team, but it remains to be seen if the move helps to unlock his full potential.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
