We have a smaller Sunday slate after some outstanding options over the last two days. Once again, we're not short on big names. The transfer portal affects college basketball more with less fanfare. Many mid-majors and small Division I talents are moving up to bigger and better things.
We start at noon in Queens, with New Mexico facing St. John's. We have a big one at The Vault with St. Mary's visiting Nebraska. Clemson heads up to Boise to take on the Broncos (let's see the football team do that!). We end in Southaven, Mississippi, with Utah facing Mississippi State.
This article will provide you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks on DraftKings on 11/17/24, starting at noon EST. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the salary scale's high, middle, and lower levels. Good luck, RotoBallers.
Today's DraftKings Guards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks
Donovan Dent, New Mexico ($8.2K)

Dent was really good for the Lobos last year, but he has been more than just a scorer this year. Dent is getting close to 10 rebounds per game in the early going. That probably won't continue as the Lobos face better guards, but Dent has a high motor and gets after the ball. His hustle keeps him in every play.
Gabe Madsen, Utah ($7.4K)
Madsen is one of the best pure scorers in college basketball this year, but he doesn't offer much else. Still, Madsen has scored 76 points in 82 minutes of court time. That's elite-level scoring, and he's not priced for it.
RJ Luis Jr., St. John's ($6.2K) (NOTE: He is listed as both a Guard and a Forward)
Luis isn't supposed to be the star of this team. High-profile transfers, such as Kadary Richmond from Seton Hall and Deivon Smith from Utah, were supposed to be the stars. So far, it's the holdover Luis who has been the star guard. Luis has 43 points, 20 rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two blocks in just 60 minutes of court time.
Smith and Richmond still see more time on the court, but I'll happily run Luis at this price until someone else takes over as the star of this team. There's no guarantee that will happen.

Nelly Junior Joseph, New Mexico ($8.7K)

New Mexico lost JT Toppin, but Nelly has picked up the slack and then some so far this season. Junior Joseph was solid for the Lobos last season, but he's at a level that even the super-talented Toppin isn't at yet. This is a tougher matchup against St. John's, but he should at least flirt with another double-double.
Ian Schieffelin, Clemson ($7.8K)
Schieffelin is out of the shadow of PJ Hall this year, with Hall now with the Denver Nuggets. Schieffelin is averaging a double-double in the early going, with solid assist and block numbers to go with it. This is still a guard-oriented team, but Schieffelin and Viktor Lakhin have been very productive up front as well.
Juwan Gary, Nebraska ($6.9K)
Gary has stepped up with Rienk Mast out for the 2024-25 season. Gary has 39 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, eight steals, and two blocks in three games so far. This is a well-rounded Nebraska team without a true star this year. Gary may fill the void left by Mast and Keisei Tominaga.
KeShawn Murphy, Mississippi State ($5K)
The Bulldogs are another guard-heavy team, but Murphy has carved out a role for himself with good peripheral numbers. He has 17 rebounds, eight assists, five steals, and two blocks to go with his 24 points. He's not going to break a slate, but Murphy will get you solid production at a value price.
Also consider: Paulius Murauskas, St. Mary's ($8.4K); Tyson Degenhart, Boise State ($7.7K); Mustapha Amzil, New Mexico ($6.1K); Ezra Ausar, Utah ($5.6K); Brady Dunlap, St. John's ($3.5K)
