Joonas Korpisalo Likely To Start Season Opener For Bruins
Boston Bruins goaltender Joonas Korpisalo will likely be between the sticks when the team begins the new campaign against Florida on Oct. 8. Star goalie Jeremy Swayman, who is a restricted free agent, remains unsigned by the Bruins, and head coach Jim Montgomery has been impressed by Korpisalo in preseason. The Finnish netminder had a 21-26-4 record with the Ottawa Senators last term, allowing 3.27 goals with a .890 save percentage. It was a struggle for him throughout the campaign, but Korpisalo looks primed for a bounce-back campaign in 2024-25, as he will be playing behind a much stronger team.
