Alex Wood Injury Update for Fantasy Baseball
Unfortunately, this appears to be a very prolonged absence for a pitcher who, when on, is actually a solid contributor to the back end of a fantasy squad. Wood landed on the injured list back on May 13 with left rotator cuff tendinitis and even began playing catch but there has been radio silence on his status moving forward.

Any managers looking for a second-half boost may want to keep an eye on his status but it doesn't appear as if Wood will be a factor in the 2024 season.
Alex Wood Fantasy Baseball Outlook
I mean, it's tough to spout anything negative regarding a veteran big-leaguer with 278 appearances under his belt to go with a quality 3.78 ERA. Match that with a 15.1% K-BB% and you have something to work with from a fantasy perspective, at least on a depth basis.
At the same time, a 5.26 ERA and 7.5% K-BB% on the season before a prolonged shoulder-related IL stint paints the ugliest of pictures. The 33-year-old is certainly a more valuable addition to the big leagues versus the fantasy leagues as has been the case throughout what has been a rather productive career.
Fantasy managers can certainly cut bait and perhaps check back in on Wood in the season's second half.
