Yainer Diaz Out With Finger Injury Monday

Houston Astros catcher Yainer Diaz (finger) is sore and has limited range of motion in his right index finger after taking a foul tip in Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Angels, according to manager Joe Espada. Diaz will be available off the bench on Monday against the San Francisco Giants, though, so fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day to begin the week. With Diaz out on Monday, Victor Caratini will do the catching for rookie right-hander Spencer Arrighetti and will bat ninth against Giants left-hander Kyle Harrison. Diaz broke a four-game home run streak on Saturday and has gone 8-for-25 (.320) with four home runs and 10 RBI in six games in the month of June. On the year as a whole, Houston's starting backstop is slashing .257/.283/.408 with seven long balls, 33 RBI and 22 runs scored in 218 at-bats. Check back on Tuesday to see if he's back in there for the 'Stros.
