Vancouver Canucks goaltender Arturs Silovs was the first goaltender off the ice in the team's morning skate on Monday, suggesting he will be the starter for this evening's game against the visiting Vegas Golden Knights. Silovs and Casey DeSmith have been alternating starts of late with Thatcher Demko sidelined but Silovs has been the superior of the two as DeSmith has taken a 6-3 loss in each of his last two outings while Silovs has allowed just three goals while winning each of his last two. He has posted a 1.50 goals-against average and a tidy .930 save percentage in his two NHL games this season after working to a 2.74 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 33 outings with AHL Abbotsford.--Brenton Kemp
