Anaheim Ducks defenseman Oleg Wellweger scored the first goal of his NHL career as part of his team's 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Vancouver Canucks. The rookie, drafted in the second round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, now has four points on 24 shots, along with a minus-five rating, across the first 19 games of his NHL career. He has averaged 18:43 of ice time per game. The 20-year-old has had a big season with AHL San Diego as he has tallied 12 goals and 37 points in 44 games with the Gulls along with 16 penalty minutes and a minus-one rating. He tallied 22 goals and 52 points in 32 games with the WHL's Kamloops Blazers last season and should be a staple in the Ducks' blueline in the 2024-25 campaign.
