NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 3/26/24

The 2023-2024 season is now in the final stretch as teams battle for home ice heading into the Stanley Cup playoffs!!! With multiple big trades this season and teams going all-in, the race for Lord Stanley is on!

Tonight we have a twelve-game slate and one team playing on a back-to-back, the Vegas Golden Knights. The currently live top-three highest implied team totals are: Colorado with 4.5, Dallas with 4.5, and Carolina with 3.8. I will do my best to guide you through this twelve-game slate on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:00 p.m. EDT.

DISCLOSURE: Make sure to monitor the NHL news feeds for the latest player status and injury news.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

John Gibson - DK $7.1K || FD $6.7K

Opponent - Seattle Kraken

There are plenty of spots to attack tonight at the goalie position. However, the majority of them are $8K or more. This forces us to get creative. Enter John Gibson and the Anaheim Ducks. Despite the Montreal Canadiens dominating the Seattle Kraken on the scoreboard in the 5-1 win two days ago, they were heavily outpaced statistically in more ways than one. If, and a big IF, Gibson can get dialed in quickly, the Ducks could easily shut down the Kraken’s offense who have scored just 11 goals in their last 10 home games. The netminder has a 1-4 record, a 5.42 Goals Against Average, and a 0.838 Save Percentage in his last five starts. This is a major risk to take. However, as stated, if Seattle continues to struggle in the goal department, Gibson could break the slate.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):

  • Shesterkin (DK $8.2K || FD $8.9K)
  • Ingram (DK $8K || FD $7.8K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Nathan MacKinnon - DK $10.5K || FD $10.6K

Opponent - Montreal Canadiens

‘MackDaddy’ a.k.a. Nathan MacKinnon has arguably the best matchup on the slate, playing at home against the aforementioned Montreal Canadiens. The Captain is coming off a massive comeback performance in the 5-4 thrilling overtime win at home against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday. In that win, MacKinnon had one goal, two assists, six shots, and one blocked shot. Dating his performances back to the last five games, the center has three goals, six assists, 25 shots, and eight blocked shots. With MacKinnon’s big performance against Pittsburgh, he overtook Joe Sakic for the most points in a single season as a Colorado Avalanche. On the other end of the ice, out of 55 possible goalies, in the last 10 games in Goals Saved Above Expected Per 60, presumed Canadiens starter Sam Montembeault sits just outside the bottom 10 at 44. Furthermore, the Canadiens in their last 10 away games are being outscored 20 to 23. MacKinnon is at the very least expected to produce two points and four shots.

Matt Duchene - DK $5.5K || FD $6.5K

Opponent - San Jose Sharks

Tyler Seguin has returned to the lineup and it has instantly impacted players like Matt Duchene. In the three games since, Duchene has one goal, three assists, four shots, and one blocked shot. In the five games prior, Duchene had two assists, 18 shots, and one blocked shot. It remains to be seen if his shot production will remain low with Seguin re-joining the lineup. However, it is something worth considering. Nevertheless, everyone should have ample opportunity for shots tonight against the league’s worst defense. In the last 10 games, excluding splits, the Sharks are in the bottom 10 in Shots Against Per 60 and they are the worst in Goals Against Per 60. Duchene is expected to register one point and two shots at a minimum.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • McMichael (DK $4.1K || FD $4.4K)
  • Cooley (DK $3.4K || FD $5.2K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Valeri Nichushkin - DK $7.4K || FD $8.7K

Opponent - Montreal Canadiens

Joining Nathan MacKinnon in the article is winger and linemate, Valeri Nichushkin. Nichushkin – out for personal reasons – may be the biggest move of the trade deadline and he didn’t even get traded. The winger has four goals, four assists, 17 shots, and six blocked shots in seven games since re-joining the lineup. As mentioned, the Canadiens are still playing poorly defensively and, after dominating the Kraken, it is a matter of time until they are brought back down to Earth. Expect Nichushkin to register three shots and two points.

Tyler Seguin - DK $5K || FD $5.7K

Opponent - San Jose Sharks

Seguin is once again playing possessed. The winger, in three games since coming back to the lineup, has two goals, two assists, and five shots and now he gets a big matchup at San Jose. In the last 10 home games, the Sharks have been outscored 15 to 33. If each line in Dallas’s top nine does not record at least one point tonight, the majority of the field will be shocked. Seguin is expected to produce one point and three shots at the very least.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Guenther (DK $4.9K || FD $5.9K)
  • Zary (DK $3.6K || FD $4K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Brady Skjei - DK $4.6K || FD $5.8K

Opponent - Pittsburgh Penguins

Skjei is a man on fire. After a good run of form, followed by a lull in production, he has returned to form. Throughout his last five appearances, he has two goals, three assists, 16 shots, and eight blocked shots. Brady Skjei now gets to play in Pittsburgh in what is one of the most crucial games of the season for the Penguins. The shot-blocking volume will be there out of the gate for the two-way defenseman and shot volume and point production will follow. This game could easily turn into a shootout. Skjei is expected to produce two shots, two blocked shots, and a point at a minimum.

Daniil Miromanov - DK $4.5K || FD $4.5K

Opponent - Chicago Blackhawks

Daniil Miromanov may be one of the easiest ‘locks’ in the lineup tonight. The two-way defenseman hasn’t looked back since his trade out of Vegas. Over his most recent five outings, he has one goal, one assist, nine shots, and 14 blocked shots. His shot-blocking skills may not be needed as much tonight, considering his opponent. However, his shot volume is expected to spike. For under $5K on DraftKings, it would be shocking if Miromanov doesn't produce double-digit fantasy points.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Heiskanen (DK $5.8K || FD $6.5K)
  • Liljegren (DK $4.2K || FD $4.9K)
