Alex Bowman's No. 48 Chevrolet had a hard time getting through inspection on Wednesday evening before qualifying, as it failed twice before finally getting through on the third attempt. Because of this, Bowman's car chief (Ty Sipes) will be ejected for the Duel race at Daytona on Thursday night, and Bowman will also lose his pit stall selection for that race. Neither of these happenings should have much effect, if any, on Bowman in Thursday night's exhibition race. His car chief will be back for Sunday's Daytona 500 race, and Bowman's starting position for that event will be determined by his finishing position in the Duel.--Jordan McAbee
