Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly has been suspended for five games for a cross-check to the head of Ottawa forward Ridly Greig in Saturday's 5-3 loss. Reilly cross-checked Graig with 5.1 seconds remaining in the game after the Senators player had fired a slap shot into an empty net. The 2024 All-Star served the first game of his suspension on Tuesday versus St. Louis. He will be eligible to return to action on Feb. 22 versus Vegas. Jake McCabe had nearly three minutes of power-play time without Rielly on Tuesday, while Timothy Liljegren took Rielly's spot on the first defensive pairing next to T.J. Brodie. The latter lead the Maple Leafs blue line in ice time with 23:41.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
