The Colorado Avalanche have signed veteran winger Zach Parise to a $825,000 deal for the rest of the reason. The 39-year-old was a free agent following a two-year stint with the Islanders. It was reported during the offseason that Parise was only willing to extend his career as a member of the Islanders, so his move to Denver can be seen as a bit of a surprise. Parise, who's also played for New Jersey and Minnesota, has scored 429 goals and 879 points in 1,224 career games. He will provide much-needed secondary scoring for an Avalanche team that has relied heavily on Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen up front.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerRead More News
