DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks For 1/4/24 - Daily Fantasy College Basketball Advice

Oumar Ballo - College Basketball Rankings, NCAA CBB DFS Lineup Picks

Today's DraftKings college basketball DFS lineup picks for 1/4/24. Mike Marteny's CBB daily fantasy advice and lineup sleepers to help you win on DraftKings.

Tonight's slate is a bit smaller and we have a couple of mid-majors entering the fray again. We still have some Power Six and left coast action on tap. It's going to turn out to be a good one!

We begin in East Lansing with Penn State in town. Minnesota heads to Ann Arbor to take on the other Michigan school. North Texas heads up I-35 to visit the Shockers. Oregon heads up to Seattle to take on the Huskies. Colorado is in Tucson to take on Arizona. We close this one out in Tempe with Arizona State hosting Utah.

In this article, I will provide you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/4/24, starting at 7 pm Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the salary scale's high, middle, and lower end. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

KJ Simpson, Colorado ($9,000)

Just when you think Simpson can't do anything more than he already has, he drops 34 actual points on Washington State and hits 60% from the floor. Simpson contributes in every category but blocks. He has scored at least 20 actual points in five straight and six of the last seven, topping 30 twice in that span. His floor is very high, which is what I want when paying top dollar for a player.

Elijah Hawkins, Minnesota ($7,800)

Hawkins leads the nation in assists at 7.8 per game, but he has at least nine assists in five straight games and six of the last seven. Hawkins is a capable scorer, but his true value lies in his almost otherworldly passing ability and tenacious defense (14 steals in the last six games). I'm a sucker for guys that rely little on scoring to hit their value. Hawkins is the epitome of that player.

Gabe Madsen, Utah ($6,500)

Madsen is an efficient scorer and was a force on the boards against Washington over the weekend. That gives him a ceiling that most don't have in this price range. Madsen is a very good defender to go with his scoring, giving him a nice floor. He hasn't been under 25 DraftKings points since November 30 against Hawaii.

Tre Holloman, Michigan State ($4,700)

Holloman is a high-energy guy off the bench and his usage is trending upward because of it. Over the last four games, Holloman has 29 points, 13 rebounds, 14 assists, six steals, and two blocks in just 79 minutes. He is everything we want in a value play. Holloman has consistent minutes right now and he is playing as well or better than some incumbent starters on this team. The minutes will be there.

Also consider: Kanye Clary, Penn State ($8,600); Caleb Love, Arizona ($7,900); Ace Baldwin Jr., Penn State ($7,200); Jackson Shelstad, Oregon ($7,100); A.J. Hoggard, Michigan State ($6,900); Cam Christie, Minnesota ($6,000); Adam Miller, Arizona State ($5,500); Julian Hammond III, Colorado ($5,100); Kamari Lands, Arizona State ($4,400)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Kwame Evans Jr., Oregon ($8,200)

Utah's Branden Carlson abused the Huskies on Monday. Washington is struggling on the interior right now, so I'm attacking them with one of Oregon's impact youngsters. Evans is usually an efficient scorer, but was quiet against UCLA. I'm not worried. The rebounds were still there and he has 11 blocks over the last four games (not to mention 12 steals). The points will be there against Washington. Just ask Carlson...

Olivier Nkamhoua, Michigan ($7,600)

The Tennessee transfer has filled in nicely for Hunter Dickinson. Nkamhoua isn't quite the rebounder that Dickinson is, but the scoring is nearly the same and Nkamhoua racks up the blocks and assists as well. His numbers are a little down compared to Dickinson last season, but Nkamhoua is also almost $3,000 cheaper. The stats aren't that far off from Dickinson. I consider him a value in this range since Nkamhoua has at least 30 DraftKings points in four straight and hasn't been under 24 all season.

Kenny Pohto, Wichita State ($6,000)

The Shockers are big on the interior, which should be more prominent now that they are in conference play. Pohto is sometimes offensively challenged and is a bit of a unicorn among college big men because he isn't a great shooter. That said, he is a really good rebounder, a solid rim protector, and a decent passer. Pohto isn't great at anything, but he's good at almost everything. That gives him a good floor for a value play.

Mady Sissoko, Michigan State ($4,800)

Be careful here since Moulaye Sissoko of North Texas is right next to Mady and they are both listed as "M. Sissoko" on DraftKings. Make sure you get the right one. Mady is an absolute beast on the boards with 34 rebounds in 78 minutes over the last four games. Sissoko is a good enough scorer, but his true value lies in the dominance on the boards with the Michigan State second unit.

Also consider: Branden Carlson, Utah ($8,800); Keion Brooks Jr., Washington ($7,700); Oumar Ballo, Arizona ($7,300); Pharrel Payne, Minnesota ($6,200); Dalen Ridgnal, Wichita State ($5,400); Wilhelm Breidenbach, Washington ($4,400; if Franck Kepnang is out); Mookie Cook, Oregon ($3,200)
