Detroit Red Wings goaltender Ville Husso will not participate in the 2023 Global Series in Sweden following the birth of his daughter. Head coach Derek Lalonde has already declared veteran James Reimer as Thursday's starter versus the Ottawa Senators, and while Alex Lyon is expected to start Friday against the Toronto Maple Leafs, nothing is official at this time. "We'll get through the game (Thursday) and see where it goes," Lalonde said. It's been tough sledding for the 28-year-old in his second season with Detroit, as Husso owns a 3.61 goals-against average and an .885 save percentage but has managed to go 6-3-1 thanks to a Red Wings offense that is tied for fourth with 3.67 goals per game on the season.--Brenton Kemp
