Seattle Kraken center Shane Wright won't be with the team to start the season after being assigned to the AHL. The 19-year-old has been granted a special exception to play in the AHL this season instead of the OHL. Wright's game hasn't translated well to the NHL level, and he couldn't impress during this year's preseason either, finishing with two assists in four appearances. This resulted in him losing the battle for the final forward spot on the roster to Tye Kartye. Wright has a chance to rebuild some confidence in the AHL, and he should get opportunities in the big league later in the season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
