The Pittsburgh Penguins claimed forward Jansen Harkins off waivers from the Winnipeg Jets on Monday. The 26-year-old split last season between the Jets and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Manitoba Moose, tallying three goals and five points with the Jets but also a healthy 25 goals and 50 points across 44 contests with the Moose. The 2015 second-round pick has skated in 154 regular-season NHL games, recording 13 goals and 27 points with 36 penalty minutes in that time. He will compete for bottom-six minutes with the likes of Matthew Nieto, Drew O'Connor, Rem Pitlick, and Noel Acciari with the Penguins for the remainder of training camp.--Brenton Kemp
