Jacksonville Jaguars - NFL Betting Analysis

During the previous season, the Jaguars compiled a regular season record of 9-8 and ended in 1st in the AFC-South. Their season concluded in the Divisional Round, marked by a loss to the Chiefs with a score of 27-20. Within divisional games, the Jaguars achieved a 4-2 performance. On their own turf, they went 6-3, while on the road, they posted a record of 4-6.

Last season, Trevor Lawrence completed 66.3% of his passes for a total of 4113 yards. For the season, he finished 9th among QB's in passing yards and 6th in touchdowns (25). Lawrence's passer rating for the season was 95.2 (18th). Jacksonville closed out last season as the 9th ranked offense in terms of points per game (23.9). In the passing game, the Jaguars averaged 233.5 while sitting 9th in attempts. For the season, they were 5th in terms of sacks allowed and 2nd in quarterback hits allowed. In the running game, Jacksonville averaged 125.1 rushing yards per contest.

The Jaguars' defense is coming off a season in which they were 13th in points allowed and gave up an average of 352.0 yards per game (24th). When looking at how they got after the quarterback, Jacksonville was 13th while also finishing 5th in quarterback hits while hitting the QB on 17.8% of their dropbacks.

The Colts will be looking forward to the regular season debut of rookie Anthony Richardson. Indianapolis drafted Richardson in the 1st round out of Florida. Also on the roster is Gardner Minshew, who played for the Eagles last season. Last season, Minshew played in five in games and finished with 663 passing yards. His overall passer rating for the season was 83.4 which was 42nd among QB's. Indianapolis closed out last season as the 30th ranked offense in terms of points per game (17.0). In the passing game, the Colts averaged 201.9 while sitting 10th in attempts. For the season, they were 23rd in terms of sacks allowed and 27th in quarterback hits allowed. In the running game, Indianapolis averaged 109.8 rushing yards per contest.

Last season, the Colts' defense was 8th in turnovers, having forced 21 takeaways. At season's end, they had a turnover differential of -13 which put them 19th in the league. Overall, they allowed an average of 25.1 points per game (27th) and 334.0 yards.

Last season, the Colts had an overall ATS record of 6-11 which included going 3-6 on the road and 3-5 at home. For the season, their games were 20th in total points with an average of 42.1 points per game, leading to an over/under record of 7-10.

Today's NFL Betting Pick - Jaguars vs. Colts
