Septembers have not been kind to Chase Elliott at Darlington. The last three races have seen the Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver start well and then a variety of issues cropped up. He was a DVP victim last year. An accident ended a promising late run in 2021 where he looked heading into the top five at least. Then, there was 2020. He led 114 laps and finished third after Stage 1. After that, everything fell apart as Elliott dropped to 20th. 2019 saw more of the same (19th). Simply, if Elliott can avoid trouble late, the No. 9 car could do well. He does start 13th on Sunday which is an improvement over the last three trips to Darlington.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
