Jarren Duran To Have Season-Ending Surgery
1 year agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran (toe) will have season-ending surgery for his turf toe on Wednesday. It's a really tough blow for the Red Sox down the stretch and for fantasy managers that have been riding Duran's strong season all year long. He was given a walking boot on Aug. 23 after landing on the injured list, which was the first sign that his return wasn't imminent in Beantown. The 26-year-old left-handed slugger will finish his 2023 campaign with a strong .295/.346/.482 slash line, an .828 OPS, eight home runs, 40 RBI, 24 stolen bases and 46 runs scored in 332 at-bats. The Red Sox regular outfield will most likely be Masataka Yoshida in left, Adam Duvall in center and Alex Verdugo in right the rest of the way, but recently recalled outfield prospect Ceddanne Rafaela could also see some at-bats along the way down the stretch.
