AJ Allmendinger made some headlines earlier this week when he announced that he would be focusing on the Xfinity race at Road America on Saturday and skipping out on practice and qualifying at Richmond for the Cup Series race. This was noteworthy because Allmendinger is in the thick of the hunt to make the Playoffs this season. On Saturday, Derek Kraus practiced and qualified his No. 16 Chevrolet at Richmond. Kraus was 35th-fastest in practice and qualified in last place (36th). Allmendinger will be scored from that spot in DFS contests, and he will have to drop to the rear of the field at the start of the race because of the driver change--although it's not like he's actually losing any positions.--Jordan McAbee
