The Washington Capitals have picked up Max Pacioretty from free agency, signing the veteran winger to a one-year, $2 million contract with the potential for another $2 million in bonuses. Pacioretty is coming off a lost season that saw him skate just five times for the Hurricanes. After recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, he made his debut for the team in early January but tore his right Achilles again just a couple of weeks later. The injury problems are an obvious concern for the Capitals, but Pacioretty is a proven scorer in the league and will be a great addition to the squad if he can stay healthy. The 34-year-old has racked up 326 goals and 645 points in 855 career games.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerRead More News
