The Calgary Flames have traded forward Tyler Toffoli to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for fellow forward Yegor Sharangovich and a 2023 third-round draft pick. Toffoli reportedly was unwilling to sign long-term with the Flames and became available via trade with one year and a $4.25 million cap hit left on his contract. The veteran winger is coming off a solid season with the Flames as he tallied a career-best 34 goals and 73 points across 82 games while putting 268 shots on goal. The perennial 20-goal scorer will slide into the Devils' impressive top-six forward group where he will play with either Nico Hischier or Jack Hughes to begin his Devils tenure.--Brenton Kemp
