Giants Getting Creative With Parris Campbell

New York Giants wide receiver Parris Campbell got some work as a running back during the team's mandatory minicamp this week with Saquon Barkley holding out. Campbell took some handoffs on a delay and jet sweep and even ran as the pitch man on an option during a play in practice. While the former Indianapolis Colt could be an option for the G-Men out of the backfield this year, it's unlikely he'll see many totes in the offense. He joins a now-crowded receiver room that also includes Isaiah Hodgins, Darius Slayton, Sterling Shepard, Wan'Dale Robinson and rookie Jalin Hyatt. Tight end Darren Waller is fully expected to lead the offense in targets, but Campbell has a chance to win the starting slot role in training camp and throughout the season if he can remain healthy. The 25-year-old is likely to go undrafted in standard 12-team leagues.
