The Dallas Stars acquired winger Evgenii Dadonov from the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday, giving up Denis Gurianov in the deal. Montreal will retain 50 percent of Dadonov's salary. The veteran is in the final season of a three-year, $15 million deal he signed with Ottawa in 2020. Dadonov quickly moved on from Ottawa to the Vegas Golden Knights and landed in Montreal via a trade back in June. He struggled to make an impact for the Canadiens and posted only eight goals and 14 assists in 50 games. Playing with better talent in Dallas should give Dadonov a lift. Gurianov, who will be a restricted free agent in the summer, should benefit from the move as well after falling out of favor in Texas. He managed to net just two goals and had nine points in 43 games with the Stars this season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
