New York Islanders right wing Oliver Wahlstrom had a very unfortunate outing against Pittsburgh on Tuesday, exiting the game after getting hurt on his first shift. He logged just 0:24 of ice time and was injured by a hit from Pittsburgh's Pierre-Olivier Joseph. The team didn't have immediate updates on Wahlstrom and his status for Thursday's clash with Columbus is currently unclear. Wahlstrom has been an effective two-way player on the Islanders' top line, posting 16 points while delivering 50 hits in 35 games. Hudson Fasching took over from him when Wahlstrom left and set up Mathew Barzal for the eventual game-winning goal in a 5-1 victory. He should get a further opportunity to impress in a bigger role if Wahlstrom isn't able to play Thursday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
