The very late replacement on Saturday's main card of UFC 282 action was just minutes away from pulling off a decision victory before he suffered a third-round TKO loss. Alex Morono took on the assignment of Santiago Ponzinibbio. Though Morono was out-struck in the significant-strike department 38 to 66, he was up on the scorecards heading into the third round. After taking a big right hand, the beginning of the end occurred for Morono and he eventually fell victim to a TKO stoppage after taking more strikes. The loss prevents Morono from earning a five-fight winning streak, but his effort should put him in the good graces of the UFC for a favorable matchup next time out.--Matt Bricker
