The Boston Red Sox agreed to a five-year deal worth more than $85 million with Japanese outfielder Masataka Yoshida on Wednesday, according to sources. The posting fee for the Orix Buffaloes of Nippon Professional Baseball will be in the $15 million range, bringing the total outlay for Yoshida to around $100 million. The 29-year-old is seen as a bit of a liability on defense, but what he lacks with his glove he is hoping to make up for with a contact-oriented approach at the plate in the States. He struck out just 8.1 percent of the time in 2022 and also slashed .335/.447/.561 with 21 home runs. Yoshida will be more of an on-base target in fantasy leagues, and he's not expected to be a world-beater in the power department.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
