Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Seth Jones has been ruled out of Sunday's game against Minnesota, and he will miss 3-4 weeks of action with a broken right thumb. This is a better blow for the Blackhawks, as they lose their No. 1 defenseman and a guy who leads the team in ice time with an average of 25:14 a night. Jones has had a slow start to the season offensively, boasting four points through eight games, but he's been a beast on the defensive end with 21 blocks and 16 hits. His absence opens up a spot on the first power-play unit, and there should be more playing time available for everybody on the backline. --Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
