The Montreal Canadiens have signed center Kirby Dach to a four-year, $13.45 million contract. After recently trading for the 21-year-old center, the Canadiens decided he was worth locking up at $3.36 million per season. Dach has substantial potential as the third overall pick in the 2019 NHL draft, but in his three seasons in Chicago he didn't live up to it, posting just 59 points in 152 games. He will likely start as Montreal's third-line center, meaning his value will be limited. If he plays well, he should see a significant role increase on a mediocre Canadiens team, so he is someone to keep an eye on. --Matt Garon - RotoBaller
