Brett Baty Batting Eighth In MLB Debut

The New York Mets have officially called up third base prospect Brett Baty from Triple-A. He will be in the starting lineup, batting eighth, in his MLB debut against right-hander Jake Odorizzi and the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday. With the team's primary third baseman Luis Guillorme (groin) on the injured list and backup third baseman Eduardo Escobar (oblique) dealing with an injury as well, Baty has a chance to see significant playing time over the next week or so. The 22-year-old slashed .312/.406/.544 with 19 home runs, 59 RBI and 73 runs at Double-A this year. Fantasy managers should monitor the youngster and he's worth a gamble if you need short term infield help in a deep league.
