Knicks Emerging As Favorites For Jalen Brunson
Jalen Brunson. On Tuesday, it was announced that the team was trading center Nerlens Noel and guard Alec Burks to the Detroit Pistons, clearing up $19 million in salary cap space. Sources of ESPN report that following this salary cap dump, the Knicks are prepared to offer Brunson a contract "in the neighborhood of $110 million." Brunson took a major step forward last year, as he averaged career-highs in both points per game (16.3) and assists per game (4.8) while shooting 50.2% from the field and 84% from the free-throw strike. He would bring much-needed stability to a Knicks backcourt that has been plagued by turnover, injuries and inconsistency for the past several years.
