Yahoo MLB DFS Advice (5/3/17): Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks

Yahoo DFS advice and daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 5/3/17 by Justin Klein. MLB DFS player recommendations for your Yahoo daily tournaments and GPPs.

Happy  Hump Day! There are 15 games on the docket Wednesday night and the start times range from 7:05 to 10:10 EST. All of those games are connected to the GPP's so they're the ones that I'll be focusing on as a result. Yahoo has some great value options to choose from for DFS games so let's get down to business (because, as usual, it's business time).

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for Yahoo on 5/3/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on Yahoo.

You can read our FanDuel and DraftKings DFS lineup picks as well. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @justinrklein.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Consider on Yahoo

The Boston Red Sox at home against RHP Kevin Gausman. Hopefully those of us who invested something on draft day for yearly leagues can make some money back in DFS tonight as the Red Sox look to pour it on Gausman and the Orioles Wednesday night at Fenway Park. Boston has the highest projected run total and they will be doing their hitting in one of the best hitter's parks on the entire slate. Stack up the BoSox and hopefully you can enjoy it when Gausman inevitably gets pummeled.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on Yahoo

Jake Arrieta vs PHI ($50)

Jake Arrieta is the best pitching play for the money in my opinion on Wednesday as he's the biggest favorite and this opponent has the lowest projected run total. Arrieta should post elite ratios and K's in a likely win for the Cubs.

Drew Pomeranz vs BAL ($41)

Pomeranz has been fairly hit or miss this season as he's posted an outstanding 11.22 K/9, but also a 4.15 ERA and a 4.45 FIP. Wednesday night Drew and the Red Sox will host the Baltimore Orioles. While it's a tough opponent in a hitter friendly ballpark it is a pretty good matchup once you reach the underlying statistics. Not only is Baltimore only projected to score 3.75 runs, but Boston is a solid favorite as well. Part of the reason that Baltimore has a low projection is because they aren't as good against left-handed pitchers and tend to strikeout more often. This bodes well for Pomeranz and his owners in the fake game. I expect solid ratios with a healthy amount of K's in a likely win.

DFS Infielders to Consider on Yahoo

Catcher (C) - Wilson Contreras vs PHI ($9)

Similar to Kris Bryant Wilson Contreras has mashed RHP at home At Wrigley Field in his young career. Thus far Contreras has managed a staggering .230 ISO with a 127 wRC+ against northpaws at home. On Wednesday night he'll face a RHP at home and for just nine bucks you can join me and get him into your Yahoo DFS lineup.

First Base (1B) - Hanley Ramirez vs BOS ($14)

As I noted in the stack section I love the Red Sox against Kevin Gausman tonight at Fenway Park. Boston is projected to score the most tonight as they take their hacks in a great hitter's park. Hanley is red hot as he's on the heels of a multi HR game where he posted 24 fantasy points with the two solo jacks. In his career against Gausman Hanley has only managed three hits in 12 at bats, but two of them were HR.

Second Base (2B) - Brian Dozier vs OAK ($14)

Brian Dozier is also coming off a multi HR game as he also had two solo HR on Tuesday night. I expect more of the same on Wednesday as Dozier and the Twins host Kendall Graveman and the A's at home at Target Field. Not only does Dozier have the highest projected score (for second basemen) using rotoballer.com's MLB Lineup Generator, but his team is also projected to score the most runs (5.25 runs) along with the Red Sox this evening. At just fourteen bucks Brian is also a nice value.

Third Base (3B) - Kris Bryant - vs PHI ($22)

Kris Bryant loves to hit against RHP at home at Wrigley Field. In his career he's notched an amazing .274 ISO and a wRC+ of 161. After smashing a HR and a triple on Tuesday evening Bryant exited the Cubs game with calf tightness, but he fully expects to play on Wednesday night. That's good, because I fully expect to have him in most of my DFS lineups. Make sure that he's in the starting lineup and then make sure that he's in yours as well.

Shortstop (SS) - Carlos Correa vs TEX ($12)

Carlos Correa has destroyed RHP at Minute Maid Park in Houston over his brief career as he's managed to post a solid .201 ISO with a wRC+ of 144. On Wednesday night he'll face RHP Nick Martinez who just might be the worst starting pitcher that's toeing the rubber that night. At just twelve bucks Correa is both a solid value and a strong matchup play with a fairly high ceiling.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on Yahoo

Mookie Betts vs BAL ($18)

Mookie has the second highest projected score on Wednesday night among outfielders and yet he's $8 cheaper than Mike Trout. Betts will face Kevin Gausman at home where his team is projected to lead the league in scoring for the evening. In his career against Gausman Mookie has managed 10 hits (including three HR) in 23 at bats. That's a 2.0 OPS my friends. And he has a 2:2 BB:K ratio in those at bats. I think he continues hit hard hitting ways and adds to those gaudy numbers tonight. So join me and get Mookie into all of your lineups and I'll meet you on the Gaudy Side of Town later this evening.

Kyle Schwarber vs PHI ($12)

In his young career Schwarber has blasted RHP to the tune of a .238 ISO and a 133 wRC+. At home at Wrigley Field his ISO against RHP gos up to .262. On Tuesday Kyle faced RHP at Wrigley and homered. Shocker. I'm not sure that he'll make it two days in a row, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised. On Wednesday night he'll face talented RHP Jerad Eickhoff and the Phillies at home at Wrigley Field and that's a good thing for Kyle and his owners in the fake game.
