Yahoo MLB DFS Advice (4/20/17): Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks

Happy  Thursday morning, early afternoon, or whenever you happen to be reading this. In any case there are four afternoon games and seven evening games. That's a total of 11 games on the slate and I'm going to focus on the evening games that are connected to the large prize pools.  Yahoo has some great value options to choose from for DFS games so let's get down to business (because, as usual, it's business time).

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for Yahoo on 4/20/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on Yahoo.

You can read our FanDuel and DraftKings DFS lineup picks as well. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @justinrklein.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Consider on Yahoo

The Washington Nationals against RHP RA Dickey and the Braves at Sun Trust Field in Atlanta, GA. The Nationals have the highest estimated run total on the evening and I like most of their stacked lineup tonight. Dickey has been bad against RHP and worse against LHP. You know what to do. In case you don't you should stack the southpaws my fellow fake-gamers.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on Yahoo

Noah Syndergaard vs PHI ($57)

At home at Citi Field in his career Thor has held hitters to a .220/.256/.331 triple slash with a .254 wOBA. On Thursday night he'll face the Phillies and Aaron Nola. While Nola isn't a slouch by any measure he also can't measure up to Thor. Syndergaard and the Mets are the biggest favorite on the ledger and the Phillies have the lowest estimated run total on the evening. That's a good combination for Thor and his owners in the fake game. I expect elite ratios and K's in a likely win as a result.

Stephen Strasburg at ATL ($50)

Although Thor is the best pitcher going tonight Strasburg isn't far behind. Stephen and the Nationals are the second biggest favorite on the slate tonight and the Braves have the second lowest estimated run total. In his career on the road Strasburg has held opposing hitters to a .284 wOBA with 493 K's across 425 and 2/3 innings pitched. I expect more of the same this evening. Stephen should pile up the K's while posting elite ratios in a likely win, so join me and get him into your lineups.

DFS Infielders to Consider on Yahoo

Catcher (C) - Jonathan Lucroy vs KC ($10)

Lucroy has been great in his career against LHP as he's posted a .295/.347/.494 triple slash with a .199 ISO. 361 wOBA and a wRC+ of 126. Today Luc and the Rangers will face off with LHP Danny Duffy and the Royals at home in Arlington. While the Duff Man is no crumb-bum we get a very reasonably priced Lucroy against a lefty and that's good enough for me.

First Base (1B) -  Eric Hosmer at TEX ($12)

Hosmer has had a bit of a slow start to the season, but in his career he's been solid against RHP, and he gets to face Andrew Cashner and the Rangers at the hitter friendly Globe Life Park in Arlington. That bodes well for Eric and his .347 wOBA and the 120 wRC+ that he's compiled against northpaws in his career. At just 12 bucks I'm in on him tonight.

Second Base (2B) - Jonathan Villar vs STL ($16)

Using the MLB Lineup Generator (one of the premium DFS tools here at Rotoballer.com) Villar has the highest projected score at Yahoo tonight and he's the fifth most expensive option. That's always nice to take advantage of and something that is too good to pass up. At home against RHP in his career Villar has managed to post a .339 wOBA and a wRC+ of 111.

Third Base (3B) - Kyle Seager - at OAK ($12)

At just twelve bucks I would blindly play Seager against anyone. That said he has a nice matchup against RHP Cesar Valdez tonight in Oakland at O.CO Coliseum. In his career against RHP away from Safeco Field Kyle has posted a solid .365 wOBA and a wRC+ of 133. The fact that he has the third highest projection combined with the eighth highest salary this evening is great for those of us in the fake game.

Shortstop (SS) -  Jose Reyes vs PHI ($7)

After writing about Reyes and his bad luck yesterday he had three at bats where he went without a hit, but he did manage to take a walk. This isn't going to fix itself overnight folks. A bad BABIP will take some time to correct. Sure, a four for four game would help, but those are hard to come by for people not named Bryce Harper. Stay the course and hang with Reyes while he's this cheap. This is about getting value around a pair of aces and seeing if we can make a full house. If Jose is out of the lineup I'll post a pivot move on my twitter account.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on Yahoo

Dexter Fowler at MIL ($11) - Fowler is one of the best value plays on the slate for Thursday as he's projected 5.24 points/$1K. Dexter will be leading off for a team that is projected a solid run total and his game has the second most positive park factor in play this evening as he'll take his swings at Miller Park in Milwaukee, WI.

Mark Trumbo at CIN ($12) - Trumbo has a  lot of good things going for him as his team has the highest projected total run total and he'll be batting in the middle of a loaded lineup. Those at bats will come at the hitter friendly Great American Ballpark which just so happens to be the third best factor for hitters in play Thursday. On top of all of that Mark has a solid matchup with Scott Feldman on tap. In his career Trumbo has posted an ISO of .214 against RHP. At just $12 you can't afford not to play him on Thursday so join me and get him into your lineups.
