Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 7:
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Jonathan Taylor, Kyren Williams, De'Von Achane, Kendre Miller, Marvin Mims Jr., Jake Tonges, Xavier Legette, Malik Washington
Jake Tonges, TE, 49ers
San Francisco 49ers tight end Jake Tonges has done a great job filling in for George Kittle (hamstring), who is still on IR and has not had his practice window opened yet. Tonges grabbed a season-high seven catches for 41 yards and a touchdown in Week 5's overtime win and followed that up with six catches for 58 yards in Week 6's loss to the Bucs. With so many receiver injuries, Tonges could stay involved even after Kittle returns, but at least until then, he's a strong option to snag from the waiver wire if you need help at tight end.
The Niners host the Falcons on Sunday Night Football this week before going on the road for games in Houston and New York. When Kittle returns, Tonges' playing time and value will be much shakier, but keep a close eye on the team's practice reports to see if Tonges will get at least one more week of filling in and being fantasy relevant.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba continued his unbelievable 2025 campaign with a 162-yard explosion against the Jaguars in Week 6. Smith-Njigba is positioning himself in such a way that gives him a legitimate shot at finishing as the WR1 overall in fantasy. JSN has developed a quick chemistry with quarterback Sam Darnold. He has scored at least 18.3 PPR fantasy points in every game but one this season. He is already on pace to top his career high of six touchdown receptions as well.
Smith-Njigba's production is matchup-proof. He seems to be able to find room against zone coverage and beat defensive backs in man coverage with ease. Darnold continues to look for Smith-Njigba in every situation. Houston will provide an interesting test for JSN in Week 7, but he should absolutely remain in every lineup.
De'Von Achane, RB, Dolphins
Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane carried the ball 16 times for 128 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns during Sunday's Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He also caught four of his six targets for an additional 22 receiving yards. Achane had his best rushing performance of the year, posting season-highs in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. His speed proved too challenging for Los Angeles' defense to slow down, and he padded his fantasy stats with some extra contributions in the passing game, too.
Of course, it wasn't quite enough to get Miami the victory, as the Dolphins fell to 1-5 on the year. The good news for fantasy managers is that Achane has been able to remain a top-10 fantasy running back despite the Dolphins' struggles. He'll continue to be a mid-range RB1 for Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns.
Jonathan Taylor, RB, Colts
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor carried the ball 21 times for 123 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown during Sunday's Week 6 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He also caught all four of his targets for an additional 14 receiving yards. Taylor has been one of the most productive running backs this season, scoring eight touchdowns over his last five games and ranking as the overall RB1 in standard and half-PPR scoring. (He is the RB2 behind Christian McCaffrey in PPR leagues.)
As long as Indianapolis continues to consistently operate from a neutral or positive game script, there will be plenty of opportunities for Taylor to produce. This is far from the last 20-carry, 100-yard game we'll see from the 26-year-old in 2025. He remains a high-end RB1 option heading into Week 7 against the Chargers.
