Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 16:
Jordan Love, QB, Green Bay Packers
He's attempted fewer than 30 passes in seven out of 13 starts this season. However, Love is highly efficient, averaging 7.8 yards per pass attempt. If he can continue his recent run of touchdown production, Love could emerge as a consistent fantasy QB1 down the stretch of the season. The Packers will take on the Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, and Baltimore Ravens over the next three weeks.
Baker Mayfield, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The 30-year-old has really struggled to hit his receivers in the back half of the season, completing just 54.7% of his passes over the Bucs' last five games. He ranks 21st among quarterbacks in fantasy points per game during that span. Managers will hope that he can bounce back in a key divisional battle against the Panthers next week, but it won't be easy. Carolina has intercepted five passes over its last two games. Mayfield remains outside the top 12 fantasy quarterbacks for the time being.
Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens
The two-time MVP's 136 passing yards were his most in a first half this season, and he was back to producing touchdowns and stretching the field. Jackson ended a career-worst streak of five games without multiple TD passes. The 28-year-old's production has dipped recently in tandem with his reduced practice time, as he's missed at least one full practice in each of the last five games due to ankle, knee, and toe ailments. If Jackson is indeed putting his injuries in the rearview mirror, we could finally start to see the high-end QB1 version, although it might already be too late for fantasy managers.
Jared Goff, QB, Detroit Lions
After attempting more than 30 passes in a game just once over the season's first seven weeks, Goff has topped that mark six times over his last seven games. Goff has thrown for at least 250 yards in all seven of those contests. As long as Detroit continues to find itself in pass-heavy game scripts, Goff could continue to have chances to rack up numbers. The Lions will host the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 16.
Marcus Mariota, QB, Washington Commanders
He doesn't have the strongest arm, but his dual-threat ability gives Mariota streaming appeal the rest of the way. He'll head into a challenging matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16. Mariota should still offer superflex value as a QB2 in a difficult home matchup.
