Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 11:

J.K. Dobbins, RB, Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins (foot) was held out of practice again on Thursday as he battles a foot injury he suffered in Week 10. The 26-year-old appears to be in serious jeopardy of missing his team's crucial Week 11 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, and earlier reporting has indicated that Dobbins may even be a candidate to be placed on Injured Reserve.

Across 10 games this season, Dobbins has recorded 153 carries for 772 rushing yards and four touchdowns. If he is unable to play in Week 11, rookie running back RJ Harvey profiles as Denver's clear lead back, with Tyler Badie mixing in on passing downs as well.

Dobbins' official status for Sunday won't be decided until later in the week, but fantasy managers would be wise to proceed as though he will not play in Week 11

Brian Thomas Jr., WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. The 23-year-old is trying to work his way back from a high-ankle sprain that caused him to miss Week 10. He has been significantly underwhelming during his second pro season, catching 30 passes for 420 yards and one touchdown through eight games.

While the season-ending injury to Travis Hunter (knee) seemed like it could open the door for Thomas to get more involved, Jacksonville addressed that issue by trading for Jakobi MeyersParker Washington has also seen an increase in volume.

As a result, Thomas remains an inconsistent fantasy option, even when he's healthy enough to play again. Managers should view him as a WR2 with a low floor.

Chris Rodriguez Jr., RB, Washington Commanders

Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. (shoulder) will play in Madrid, Spain, on Sunday in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins and will have a key role, according to Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network.

Rodriguez, who exited the Week 10 blowout loss to the Detroit Lions early with a shoulder injury, put in a full practice on Wednesday and will be good to go this week. Before getting hurt on Sunday, the 25-year-old saw six carries for 16 yards and a touchdown.

With rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt struggling of late, the Commanders have been giving more work to Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols out of the backfield. At the very least, Rodriguez will have some RB3/flex appeal in deeper fantasy leagues this weekend as Washington's preferred goal-line option in a plus matchup versus Miami

Brian Robinson Jr., RB, San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 49ers running back Brian Robinson Jr. is coming off his best two games since joining the team. Robinson handled eight carries for 41 yards and a touchdown in Week 10's loss to the Rams, following his Week 9 performance against the Giants, where he had 53 yards and a touchdown on five carries.

The 26-year-old finally found the end zone and has run well as the primary backup behind Christian McCaffrey this season. His 4.9 yards per carry would be the highest of his career over a full season, and he remains one of the premier handcuffs in fantasy.

It's possible that the coaching staff lightens up McCaffrey's workload down the stretch to keep him fresh for a potential playoff run and gives Robinson a path to real standalone value. But if McCaffrey were to miss any time, Robinson would immediately slot in as a high-end RB2 in Kyle Shanahan's offense.

Luther Burden III, WR, Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III is in line for more opportunities moving forward after a strong performance in Week 10 against the Giants and positive coachspeak from head coach Ben Johnson after the game.

Johnson spoke glowingly of Chicago's rookie second-rounder, saying that "he's the guy that's starting to get more targets" and adding that the trust level between Burden and quarterback Caleb Williams "continues to ascend." The 21-year-old is certainly deserving of more work with how efficient and dynamic he's been with his limited looks.

Out of 115 wide receivers with at least 15 targets this season, Burden's 12.3 yards per target ranks fourth highest, per Fantasy Points Data Suite. Burden's stock is trending up, and he's a strong hold in 12-team leagues.
