Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 11:
Baker Mayfield, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is coming off a solid bounce back performance against the New England Patriots last weekend.
Mayfield completed 28-of-43 passing attempts for 273 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions in the loss. The Bucs remain shorthanded on offense, but that hasn't stopped Mayfield from posting strong numbers.
This is a pass-heavy offense that continues to find ways to get it down despite the injuries. Fantasy managers should continue plugging in Mayfield as a QB1 for the upcoming matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
Joe Flacco, QB, Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco (shoulder) was on the injury report again this week due to a balky right shoulder, and he even missed Wednesday's practice, but he has since been removed from the report and will play in Week 11 in a rematch against the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
The 40-year-old gunslinger is rested up coming out of the bye week, and fantasy managers who have been streaming him will be hoping that he can repeat his performance against Pittsburgh on Oct. 16. Flacco went 31-for-47 passing in that contest for 342 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions in a 33-31 comeback win.
In four games since joining the Bengals, Flacco has been tremendous, throwing for 1,254 yards, 11 TDs, and two picks on 173 pass attempts. He threw for a season-high 470 yards and four TDs back in Week 9 and is poised to be a low-end QB1 in fantasy again this weekend as he continues to pepper receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins with as many targets as possible.
Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson put up a lackluster performance in Week 10, especially for his standards. It was the only game that he played start to finish and didn't end up in QB1 territory.
In Week 11, he takes on the Cleveland Browns, who haven't been very easy for opposing quarterbacks. They're ranked as the fifth-toughest matchup for the position and give up an average of 13.83 fantasy points per game.
Jackson was one of only two QBs that has already thrown for 200+ yards and three or more touchdowns against this defense, though. He finished as QB3 in that Week 2 showdown and is projected for the same finish this time around.
Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers
Earlier this week, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle told members of the media that he is "looking forward" to playing with Brock Purdy (toe) once again in Week 11, highlighting the quarterback's energy and leadership on the field. Purdy, who has thrown Kittle 21 of his 48 regular-season touchdowns, has not played with Kittle since Week 1.
Kittle caught four passes from Purdy for 25 yards and one touchdown in that game before he left early with a hamstring injury that sent him to injured reserve. Also returning from injury in time for the 49ers' rematch with the Arizona Cardinals is wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee).
Pearsall's presence might take work away from Kittle, but it should also spread the Cardinals' defense out and make it possible for Kittle to be more productive even with fewer targets. As usual, Kittle is projected as a TE1 and should be locked into starting lineups in Week 11.
Jameis Winston, QB, New York Giants
New York Giants quarterback Jameis Winston is set to make his first start of the season in Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers, filling in for an injured Jaxon Dart (concussion). Winston will get the start over Russell Wilson as he is demoted to QB3.
The former first overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft takes over at the helm with interim head coach Mike Kafka after Brian Daboll was fired earlier this week. Winston produced his standard numbers in seven games as a starter in Cleveland last season, completing 61.1% of his passes for 2,121 yards with 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
The 31-year-old will be without one of New York's top wideouts in Darius Slayton (hamstring), in a stiff test against a stout Green Bay Packers defense that has allowed the second-fewest net yards per pass attempt (5.1) this season. Winston provides plenty of volatility in a given week, and he'll project as a low-end QB2 for Week 11.
