Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 10:
Matthew Stafford, QB, Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 24 of his 32 pass attempts for 281 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 9 victory over the New Orleans Saints. He also took two sacks and finished with a loss of four rushing yards.
The veteran quarterback is enjoying an MVP-caliber campaign at the age of 37, racking up 21 touchdowns and just two interceptions through eight games. He ranks third among quarterbacks in fantasy points per game since Week 4, and he's eighth in fantasy points per game for the full season.
Stafford lacks rushing upside, but his spectacular passing stats should keep him in the mid-range QB1 tier for Week 10 against the San Francisco 49ers. In his last outing against the Niners, Stafford racked up 389 passing yards and three passing touchdowns.
Sam Darnold, QB, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold has put himself on the fringes of the MVP conversation with the way he has played so far in 2025. Through eight games, the 28-year-old has completed 70.4% of his pass attempts for 2,084 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
Darnold is only averaging 27 pass attempts per game, but he's logged a league-leading 9.6 yards per pass attempt. Darnold has recorded at least 295 passing yards in each of his last four starts and has thrown 11 touchdown passes over that stretch.
He's a must-start player in two-quarterback fantasy formats, and Darnold deserves starting consideration in single-QB leagues with 12 or more teams as well. Seattle will host the division rival Arizona Cardinals in Week 10
Caleb Williams, QB, Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams completed 20 of his 34 pass attempts for 280 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 9 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. He also caught two passes for 22 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown.
Furthermore, he rushed the ball five times for an additional 53 yards on the ground. It was an incredible day all around from Williams, who got involved as a passer, runner, and receiver, thanks to some creative play-calling from Ben Johnson.
The former No. 1 pick is having a very impressive second pro season, establishing himself as a mid-to-low QB1 in fantasy football. He'll have an opportunity to feast against the 2-7 New York Giants next week.
Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) will be limited in the first practice of the week on Thursday, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. Purdy has only played in two games this year and not since aggravating a turf-toe injury in the Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
While the 25-year-old signal-caller has made progress, he has yet to upgrade to a full practice, which will be required of him before he's cleared to start again. It puts his status firmly up in the air for another week for the Week 10 divisional clash against the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday. The good news is that the 49ers plan for Purdy to take on more first-team reps in practice this week, which could mean that he's on the cusp of making his return.
If Purdy is unable to gain clearance to play against the Rams, Mac Jones will make his eighth start of the year. We should have more clarity on the situation later in the week.
J.J. McCarthy, QB, Minnesota Vikings
In his first game since suffering a high-ankle sprain in the Week 2 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Minnesota Vikings second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy impressively led his team to a big road win over the division-rival Detroit Lions on Sunday in Week 9.
While the 22-year-old's final stat line wasn't all that impressive -- he went 14-for-25 passing for only 143 yards -- he did throw two touchdowns and added another score on 12 rushing yards. What was impressive was the fact that he was able to lead Minnesota to a tough road win behind a shaky offensive line against a strong opponent in just his third career start after a lengthy injury absence.
McCarthy's two touchdown passes went to receiver Justin Jefferson and tight end T.J. Hockenson, with both coming in the first half. At the very last, he's worth stashing as a QB2 with upside in fantasy as he heads into a Week 10 meeting against the Baltimore Ravens.
