ANALYSIS: Benson is listed as the backup running back on Arizona’s depth chart. Offensive coordinator Drew Petzing recently came out and stated that James Conner would be the team’s bellcow back.

That doesn’t leave much left over for Benson. He doesn’t carry any fantasy value for Week 1. Benson would only produce in the event of a Conner injury or if Arizona finds themselves with a massive lead. Seeing as they play Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills this week, that probably won’t happen.
Benson is not a recommended starting option for Week 1. However, if he’s available on waivers in your league, stop what you’re doing and go pick him up. He's a top running back handcuff and would be in line for a potential three-down role if anything happened to Conner.
