ANALYSIS: There are a couple of Boston Red Sox players that we can get at a nice price in drafts and Trevor Story is another one. With what looks to be a solid (and full) season for Trevor Story, Boston has him set to hit cleanup which should be a big boon to his RBI total.
A UCL injury prevented him from debuting until August, and he struggled with his timing upon returning to the tune of a .203/.250/.316 line with three homers and 10 SB in 168 PAs. It would be easy to count the 31-year-old out, but remember that Story slashed .238/.303/.434 with 16 HR and 13 SB in 396 PAs as recently as 2022.
Story can swipe bases, too. Per Rick Lucks, Trevor Story posted a 28.8 ft./sec Statcast Sprint speed and eight Outs Above Average last season even after struggling early on. He has the athleticism and power to put together some well-balanced production if he can stay healthy.
ATC projects Story for 83 runs, 83 RBI, 25 home runs, and 20 steals. He's going far too late in drafts for a player with his tools and upside. This Boston offense should be improved around him, too.
