Top Quarterback Waiver Wire Pickups and Streamers for Week 12: Trevor Lawrence, Taylor Heinicke, Ryan Tannehill

Trevor Lawrence - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Dan's fantasy football quarterback waiver wire pickups for Week 12 of the 2022 NFL season. His free agent QBs to add and QB streamers for 1QB and 2B leagues.

There were several high-scoring teams in Week 11, especially a 67-point combined shootout between the Steelers and Bengals. Five total teams scored at least 30 points, keeping with the positive trend we’ve seen in recent weeks.

Five quarterbacks surpassed the 300-yard passing threshold this week, but only three quarterbacks (Joe Burrow, Jacoby Brissett, and Andy Dalton) threw for more than two touchdowns. Week 12 will give us a quick reprieve from bye weeks before they pick up again in Week 13.

In this article, I will look at the fantasy football waiver wire for quarterback pickups and streamers, focusing on players under 65% rostered in fantasy leagues while adding a couple of deep sleepers for two-quarterback leagues (less than 25% rostered).

Editor's Note: The FFPC Playoff Challenge #2 is back with a massive $100,000 grand prize and $203,250 total prize pool, paying down to 100th place. Here's the deal: no salary cap, no draft, no pickups, no subs. Choose 8 players, and as NFL teams get knocked out so will your players, so choose your team wisely. The entries will sell out quickly, and registrations will close on Saturday January 17th at 4:30 pm ET . Don't wait - get your team now and end your fantasy football season with a shot at $100,000!  Single-QB League Waiver Wire Options

Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

Yahoo: 59% rostered

Trevor Lawrence went into the bye week on a high note after completing 54 of 71 passes for 494 yards and three touchdowns in Weeks 9 and 10. Lawrence scored over 15.0 fantasy points in each game, including a 20.9-point effort against Kansas City.

Lawrence comes back from the bye with two solid matchups on the horizon against the Ravens in Week 12 and the Lions in Week 13. The Jaguars' passing attack was operating at a high level heading into the bye week and there is reason to believe they’ll have used their week off to further optimize their ability to move the ball through the air.

Lawrence is an excellent priority add on the waiver wire thanks to his strong matchups heading into the fantasy playoffs.

Marcus Mariota, Atlanta Falcons

Yahoo: 43% rostered

Marcus Mariota continues to win ugly as a passer and is putting up consistent fantasy production along with it. Mariota had his second consecutive fantasy performance with 17.74 fantasy points, which is enough production to make him a solid streaming option.

The Falcons' signal-caller now has seven games with at least 15.0 fantasy points scored on the season. The loss of Kyle Pitts is significant, but the veteran quarterback will still have rookie Drake London, Olamide Zaccheaus, and Cordarrelle Patterson in the passing attack.

Mariota will have two excellent matchups against the Commanders and Steelers secondaries before his Week 14 bye, giving him two matchups that will give him starting upside. He’s worth rostering if you’re in a pinch and can be prioritized if you know a bye week is on the horizon for your usual quarterback.

Two-QB Waiver Wire Options and Stashes

Taylor Heinicke, Washington Commanders

Yahoo: 14% rostered

Taylor Heinicke has been named the starter for the Washington Commanders going forward and finds himself with a fantastic matchup in Week 12.

Things haven’t been great for Heinicke in the last two games. The signal-caller has completed just 32 of 56 passes for 402 yards and one interception in his last two weeks, but the Commanders just keep winning. Now, he’ll be facing off against a very exploitable Falcons secondary in his next game.

Atlanta comes into Week 12 allowing opposing quarterbacks to score 18.8 fantasy points per game against them this season.

Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans

Yahoo: 16% rostered

Tannehill has been on fire since returning from his injury, scoring at least 20.0 fantasy points in each of the Titans' last two games. The veteran quarterback has quietly had at least 18.0 fantasy points in four of eight games played this season.

Tannehill is moving the ball efficiently in the passing attack once again this season and is starting to put up strong numbers as his new weapons in the passing game get acclimated. He’ll be startable in Week 12 against the Bengals, but it’s hard to envision him being a multi-week solution with the Eagles on tap in Week 13.
