ANALYSIS: Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard was quite productive operating in the lead role in 2024 and is poised to remain in the top spot on the depth chart in 2025. Last season, in his first year with the Titans, Pollard totaled 1,079 yards on the ground and added 288 through the air. Pollard ran the ball 160 times and caught 412 receptions.
He found the back of the end zone five times.
More importantly, after an ineffective 2023 season, Pollard was able to bounce back despite playing in one of the worst offensive units in the sport. Now, Pollard will be joined by first overall pick Cam Ward under center.
In addition, No. 2 running back Tyjae Spears (ankle) was placed on the IR, which means he will miss at least the first four weeks of the season, leaving Pollard as the clear option of the offense.
Even though he faces a tough Denver defense, Pollard should be given ample workload both on the ground and through the air, which should put him in a position to post strong RB2 numbers due to high projected volume. If Ward can enjoy a strong debut, Pollard can push for high-end RB2 production.
