The Kick-Off: DraftKings DFS Soccer Picks for 9/29/2021 (UCL Matchweek 2-Day 2)

Brandon's DraftKings EPL DFS lineup picks for Champions League soccer on 9/29/21 (Matchweek 2-Day 2). His top daily fantasy soccer forwards, midfielders, defenders, goalkeepers.

Welcome back to “The Kick-Off”! Yesterday was quite the slate after we had massive favorites Real Madrid drop a game at home to Sheriff and another favorite, RB Leipzig drop a home match to Club Bruges. Today we will have another massive favorite with Bayern Munich -1200. There are a few more favorites as well, Manchester United -210 and Red Bull Salzburg -105, however, they are much closer to pickems than anything.

The main slate will kick-off at 3:00 PM EST with the six matches. Chelsea will be one of the best teams at a chance of a clean sheet and Bayern Munich should trounce Dynamo Kyiv.

Remember that during the Champions League and Europa League play, things are much messier and goals come from everywhere or nowhere. When betting, it is not as easy to predict as the domestic play, but the heavy favorites typically never disappoint. On that note, let’s jump right into the matchups and their projected players for the day.

The Kick-Off - UCL Matchweek 2 - Day 2

Vegas Odds for the Day

[H] Bayern Munich (-1200) vs [A] Dynamo Kyiv (+2650):  Total: 4u

Believe it or not, this matchup has been decades in the process. The last time these two clubs played was in 1999 and 2000 where they split wins respectively. However, this matchup will be greatly different. Bayern drew their very first match of the season and since then, they have dominated every match. Dynamo, however, has been great, but they falter in the matches that matter and against tougher competition. It is very rare that a match will be projected at four goals and it would not be a surprise to see it even go past that.

Expected Outcome: 5-0 Bayern

BAY:

Cash/GPP:

G: Neuer($5.9K)

M/F: Muller($8.5K), Kimmich($8.2K)

GPP: Sane($8.3K), Gnabry($8K), Davies($6K), Upamecano($3.6K)

DYK:

Cash/GPP:

M/F: Tsygankov($4.6K), Shaparenko($3.6K)

GPP: Mykolenko($3.7K)

[H] Benfica (+180) vs [A] Barcelona (+150):  Total: 2 1/2o

Benfica will be coming into this match with a slight morale boost with four wins out of their last six and playing in front of their home crowd. The Spanish outfit continues to struggle and they have only won twice out of their last six with their most recent win a 3-0 victory over bottom-dwellers Levante. Benfica was able to pull off an away draw in their first outing this season, while Barcelona got swept by Bayern Munich. With Dynamo Kyiv playing Bayern on this slate, there is no better time for Benfica to widen the gap for second place.

Expected Outcome: 2-1 Benfica

BEN:

Cash/GPP:

G: Vlachodimos($4.7K)

D: Grimaldo($5.5K)

M/F: Rafa($6.9K), Yaremchuk($5.9K), Mario($4.9K)

GPP: Nunez($5.5K), Gilberto($3.6K)

BAR:

Cash/GPP:

D: Dest($3.7K)

M/F: Depay($9.5K), Gavi($3K)

GPP: Coutinho($6K), de Jong($5.3K), ter Stegen($5K)

[H] Manchester United (-210) vs [A] Villarreal (+550):  Total: 2 1/2o

This matchup will be heated revenge and not one that the Red Devils can drop. The last time these two met, was last year in the Europa Title match where Villarreal won in penalties in a dramatic fashion. Although Villarreal is coming into this meeting with better form, they will still battle uphill in front of Old Trafford. After starting the season strong, Manchester United has fallen off quickly with two consecutive defeats coming into this match. They will need to turn things around quickly if they are to compete at all for a title this season.

Expected Outcome: 2-1 Manchester United

MU:

Cash/GPP:

D: Telles($5.7K)

M/F: Ronaldo($10K), Fernandes($9.1K), Greenwood($8.9K)

GPP: Sancho($7.1K), de Gea($5.8K), Dalot($5.1K)

VIL:

Cash/GPP:

M/F: Danjuma($6.6K), Parejo($5.3K), Trigueros($5K)

GPP: Alcacer($4.9K), Pedraza($3.9K), Rulli($3.9K)

[H] Red Bull Salzburg (-105) vs [A] Lille (+295):  Total: 2 1/2o

Salzburg is coming into this home matchup against Lille with a slight advantage in the table. Salzburg managed to gain a crucial away point at Sevilla a few weeks ago, while Lille suffered a poor draw to Wolfsburg at home. With Wolfsburg and Sevilla playing as well, this is a prime opportunity for Salzburg to gain a bigger advantage and possibly get atop the table.

Expected Outcome: 2-1 Salzburg

RBS:

Cash/GPP:

G: Kohn($5.4K)

D: Ulmer($5.4K), Kristensen($4.7K)

M/F: Sucic($6.5K), Aaronson($6.2K), Seiwald($5.1K)

GPP: Adeyemi($7.8K), Sesko($7.6K)

LIL:

Cash/GPP:

D: Celik($4.2K), Reinildo($3.7K)

M/F: Yazici($6.3K), Xeka($4K)

GPP: David($6.6K), Gomes($4.1K), Grbic($4.4K)

[H] Vfl Wolfsburg (+180) vs [A] Sevilla (+160):  Total: 2 1/2u

This could possibly be nominated for the most boring match of the slate. Neither club are in great form, but Sevilla does have back-to-back wins after tying Salzburg at home two weeks ago. Wolfsburg meanwhile is struggling for wins and things are not looking up in this matchup either. The spoils may be shared, but Sevilla does have what is needed to garner those all-important three points.

Expected Outcome: 2-1 Sevilla

WOB:

Cash/GPP:

D: Mbabu($4.8K)

M/F: Arnold($6.1K), Lukebakio($5.7K)

GPP: Weghorst($6.7K), Casteels($4.6K), Steffen($4.3K), Roussillon($4.1K)

SFC:

Cash/GPP:

D: Navas($5.6K), Acuna($5.3K)

M/F: Rakitic($4.9K)

GPP: Mir($7.4K), Lamela($7.1K), Ocampos($6.8K), Bounou($5.1K), Jordan($4.1K)

[H] Juventus (+260) vs [A] Chelsea (+110):  Total: 2 1/2u

Chelsea remains one of the clubs to beat this year and they will be traveling to Turin with a difficult matchup against one of the Italian giants Juventus. However, since Ronaldo left Juventus, they have struggled to score with consistency and they will be without one of their star players Paulo Dybala here. Juventus will also be missing their star striker in Alvaro Morata. This will be a key matchup for the Blues to take their rightful spot atop the table.

Expected Outcome: 2-0 Chelsea

JUV:

Cash/GPP:

D: Cuadrado($5.8K)

M/F: Chiesa($7.9K)

GPP: Kean($5.7K), Kulusevski($5.2K), Szczesny($4.3K)

CHE:

Cash/GPP:

G: Mendy($5.2K)

D: Alonso($5.9K)

M/F: Lukaku($9.3K), Ziyech($7K)

GPP:  Havert($6.7K), Jorginho($3.9K), Kovacic($3.7K)

Expected Corner Takers:

Bayern Munich: Kimmich

Dynamo Kyiv: Shaparenko/Tsygankov

Benfica: Soares/Grimaldo

Barcelona: Depay/Pedri

Manchester United: Greenwood/Fernandes

Villarreal: Parejo/Trigueros

Red Bull Salzburg: Seiwald/Sucic

Lille: Xeka/Yazici

Wolfsburg: Arnold

Sevilla: Gomes/Suso/Lamela/Rakitic

Juventus: Cuadrado

Chelsea: Alonso/James/Mount
