ANALYSIS: Tari Eason started his college basketball career as an All-AAC Freshman for the Cincinnati Bearcats, averaging 1,3 blocks and 1.2 steals per game in 19.6 MP before transferring to LSU; where he burgeoned to produce 16.9 points, 6.6 boards, 1.9 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 35.9% from deep and 80.3% from the free throw line on his way to First-Team All-SEC and SEC Sixth Man of the Year honors. At #17 overall in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft, the Houston Rockets decided to add the 6'8, 215-lb. forward to their potent mix of promising youth, and he is already standing out from his floor-time competition at this early point in the season.
Statistically, Eason is now capable of producing in every category besides the passing department. In 18.1 minutes, he is currently averaging 8.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 40% from deep and 82.6% from the foul line. He tops the Rockets in steals per 36 minutes (2.7) and steal percentage (3.6%), and ranks fifth in rebounding percentage (14.8%) and block percentage (2.5%). He has also taken good care of the ball as his usage rate increases, so for a statistically well-rounded addition at forward in deep formats, now is the time to take stock of Tari Eason.
